Point-of-Use Legionella & Waterborne Pathogen Filtration for Healthcare Facilities
ADMEDEALEM helps hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, clinics, and other healthcare environments evaluate and deploy point-of-use water filtration as part of a broader water-management and infection-control strategy.
A Fixture-Level Control Within a Broader Water Management Program
Healthcare water safety is not solved by a single product. Effective programs combine risk assessment, engineering controls, monitoring, corrective action, documentation, maintenance, and communication between facility, infection-prevention, clinical, and administrative teams.
Point-of-use filtration can provide a physical barrier at selected outlets where added bacterial retention is appropriate, including during targeted risk-reduction programs, investigations, remediation, or other facility-directed control measures.
Where Point-of-Use Filtration Can Fit
Patient & Resident Shower Outlets
Showers create aerosols close to the breathing zone. Point-of-use shower filtration can provide a physical bacterial-retention barrier at selected healthcare outlets without requiring a building-wide plumbing modification.
Clinical & Handwashing Points
Faucet-mounted filtration can support targeted protection at patient-room sinks, handwashing points, preparation areas, laboratories, and other designated outlets where facility procedures call for added control.
Local Equipment & Water Supply Connections
Inline filtration can support selected local connections where a compact upstream format is preferred, including certain drinking-water, equipment, and specialty-use applications based on system conditions and manufacturer guidance.
Regulatory Spotlight: PurGuard360® QF10
The FDA lists PurGuard360® (QF10), manufactured by E.A.M. Benelux B.V., under 510(k) K261470 as a Class II device with a substantially equivalent decision. The manufacturer’s current U.S. Instructions for Use describe it as a disposable, single-use, non-sterile point-of-use water microfiltration device intended to filter EPA-quality drinking water and retain bacteria.
The manufacturer states that, by retaining bacteria, the device may aid in infection control. The IFU also specifically states that PurGuard360® is not intended to provide sterile water and is not a substitute for USP-grade sterile water.

Healthcare-Focused Product Applications
ADMEDEALEM can help match the filtration format to the outlet, risk profile, flow requirement, maintenance plan, and facility operating conditions.
PurGuard360®
Point-of-use handheld shower filtration for healthcare and other high-risk applications. PurGuard360® QF10 is the FDA-listed 510(k)-cleared Class II device referenced above.
Evaluate PurGuard360® →TapTech Pro®
Faucet-mounted filtration for selected patient, clinical, handwashing, laboratory, and preparation-area outlets based on facility needs and current manufacturer documentation.
Evaluate TapTech Pro® →SkyStream®
Mounted shower filtration where an inline showerhead configuration is preferred, including selected rehabilitation, resident-care, and specialty shower applications.
Evaluate SkyStream® →Inline PureFlow Blue®
Compact inline ultrafiltration for selected local supply connections and equipment applications where a separate faucet- or shower-mounted format is not preferred.
Evaluate Inline PureFlow Blue® →ADMEDEALEM Adds the Facility-Service Layer
Our role is not simply to ship filters. We help facility teams evaluate how filtration fits into the larger water-management, maintenance, sampling, and documentation process.
When a Water-Quality Result Triggers a Response
A positive Legionella or other water-quality finding can require coordinated action across facilities, infection prevention, leadership, water-treatment providers, laboratories, and other stakeholders. Where point-of-use filtration is appropriate, ADMEDEALEM can help evaluate and organize fixture-level deployment as one component of that response.
- Identify priority outlets and affected areas
- Review appropriate POU or inline filtration options
- Coordinate product availability and deployment planning
- Establish replacement and tracking requirements
- Coordinate follow-up sampling and independent laboratory support where needed
- Document actions for the facility’s water-management records
Important Program Note
Point-of-use filtration is a control measure, not a substitute for a facility water-management program, system remediation, required treatment, clinical infection-prevention procedures, or public-health direction.
ADMEDEALEM works with the facility team to fit filtration into the broader response rather than treating the filter as a stand-alone solution.
Healthcare Environments We Can Support

How a Healthcare Water Safety Review Works
Healthcare Water Safety FAQ
Does point-of-use filtration replace a Water Management Program?
No. Point-of-use filtration can be one control measure within a broader water-management strategy. The facility remains responsible for its overall program, treatment, monitoring, corrective actions, and applicable regulatory or clinical requirements.
Does PurGuard360® produce sterile water?
No. The manufacturer’s current U.S. Instructions for Use state that PurGuard360® is non-sterile and is not intended to provide sterile water or replace USP-grade sterile water.
Can filtration be considered during a Legionella investigation or remediation?
It can be evaluated as a targeted fixture-level control where appropriate. The specific response should be determined by the facility’s water-management team and applicable clinical, engineering, public-health, and manufacturer guidance.
Can ADMEDEALEM coordinate Legionella testing?
Yes. ADMEDEALEM can coordinate field sampling and independent laboratory testing as part of a broader water-management or corrective-action program.
Can you support multiple facilities or a healthcare portfolio?
Yes. We can help organize product selection, site-by-site deployment planning, replacement schedules, sampling coordination, and documentation across multiple locations.
